CHICAGO – Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the people responsible for a mass shooting that left three people dead and five injured during a house party in Gage Park earlier this month. Many, if not all, of the victims are believed to be migrants.
On December 2 at approximately 2:10 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the 3500 block of West 59th Street. They found eight people shot, four men and four women, all between 20 and 35 years old.
Officials said three of the men were killed: Jon Carlos Blancarcer, 28, Hector Sajo, 26, and Osmer Angel Ferrer Oria, 32.
Neighbors reported migrants living in the home, but CPD Deputy Chief Jon Hein declined to say whether the victims were migrants during a news conference shortly after the shooting.
Hein said police had been called to the house on other matters, but he did not elaborate. Neighbors told reporters that the house often hosted parties and that it was common to hear loud music from inside and see people walking around having drinks.
Witnesses confirmed to police that a birthday party was taking place and a famous DJ from Venezuela was performing.
Now Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000 for information that helps solve the case. Tipsters who provide information anonymously and still qualify for the reward money, which is offered for 60 days.
The organization’s anonymous tip line is 1-800-535-STOP. You can also email information to TIPS@cookcountycrimestoppers.org or submit it to the CPD hotline at 833-408-0069.

CWBChicago was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had become discouraged by the inaccurate information presented during local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has since expanded to Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas.
