It is easy to take on the Apple agenda -app for granted. The long -term piece of software for iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and Macs gets the job done in a simple and infallible way. However, dig a little deeper in Apple agenda and you will find more functions and options than you might have expected.
From keeping track of vacation events and birthdays to managing memories and departure times, there are many ways to make Apple calendar more useful. Here are some of our favorite functions that you may not have used yet.
Manage memories
Apple Calendar recently had the opportunity to manage memories, so that you don’t have to jump so much between two different apps. To make a memory, tap or click on the + (plus) button at the top and then choose Memory (on mobile) or New memory (on macOS).
Train when you have to leave
When you make or edit an event, you will see a field for entering a location: a reason to fill this in is that you will receive a notification when it is time to leave, to reach the place on time. You can also manually enter a fixed travel time in the Traveling time field.
See holiday calendars
Instead of trying to remember holiday events (such as the day or daylight -saving time switches), you can import calendars – you can even import holiday calendars for different countries if you have family or colleagues in those parts of the world.
If you are using Apple agenda on iOS or iPados, tap Calendars> Add calendar> Add holiday calendar. Click MacOS File> New holiday calendar To find the list. These calendars can be shown or hidden as all the other agendas you have set.
Change the start of the week
Some people love their calendar weeks to start on Monday, while others prefer Sunday. You can set your preference in Apple calendar via Settings> Apps> Calendar> Start Week on (iOS and iPados) or Calendar> Settings> General> Start week on (MacOS).
Copy and duplicate events
You do not have to waste time making new events that are very similar to existing events: if you have a long time on an event in iOS or iPados, or right mouse button at an macOS event, you will receive options to copy or to Duplicate events. These cloned events can then be edited if necessary.
Add birthdays to your contacts
Never miss the birthday of a friend or family member again: if you fill in the birthday field for people in your Apple contacts -app, those birthdays will appear in Apple calendar, with an outdated age. Ticking a birthday event takes you to the relevant input in contacts.
Create events with Siri
Nevertheless Siri not when it comes to making new events in Apple agenda: it is often faster than writing everything by hand. Tell Siri that you want to make a new agenda event on mobile and desktop, and you will be asked for the details.
Import other calendars
Apple -Agenda also has access to agendas that you have made in other apps (such as Google Agenda). Tap iOS and iPados Settings> Apps> Calendar> Acenda -Accounts> Add account; If you are on macOS, that’s Calendar> Accounts> Add account.
Share agendas with other people
Sharing agendas is a great way to stay on the same page with people in your family or your team at work. Everyone gets access to the same planning data on all their Apple devices, and this is something you can do for every agenda that is linked to your iCloud account.
Tap iOS and iPados CalendarsThen the Info button (“I”) next to an agenda, then Add person. Choose on macOS View> Calendar listThen click on the portrait icon to the right of each calendar. For each added person you can grant or refuse calendar processing rights.
Force a specific time zone
The times and dates of your event in Apple agenda on iOS and iPados are shifting as standard while you go through different time zones. If you prefer that they have stuck, you can force a specific time zone via Settings> Apps> Calendar> Conquest time zone.
Add notes to events
Each event comes with an optional notes field. One of the many ways you can use this field is to tag events with different categories – such as “School” or “Project” – which you can then use in your Apple agenda search assignments to match all events.
