Chicago – A man who reportedly opened the fire on an internet installation team because he thought one of them was stable that his dog was sentenced on Monday to 12 years in prison. Jaquan Shines, 26, also received a prison sentence of eight years for alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl in an earlier incident.
An AT&T technician went to the House of Shines in January 2022 to install TV and internet services, but he had to call a second technician to help with the job.
While he was waiting for his colleague to arrive, the installation program heard that people within the House of Shines are talking about a dog. Moments later, the accused seems to take the animal the animal, claimed prosecutors.

The technician crawled around the basement floor looking for the dog until it is said that it is said to see the interior of his work car. Shines, who was then 21, did not know the girl when he saw her on the street and exchanged the number in August 2020, the prosecutors said. The two were concerned with ‘consensual touch’, but the girl told him to stop after he had pulled out his pants and exposed his private life, the prosecutors said.
Instead, Shines reportedly struggled with the girl, took her to the ground and tried to have sex with her repeatedly. According to public prosecutors, the girl eventually got away and immediately told a friend about it.
DNA material collected after the attack was linked to seems to be in the days prior to the incident of the TV installation program, said prosecutors.
On Monday, Shines argued guilty of aggravated dismissal from a firearm to an occupied vehicle and exacerbated criminal sexual attack that causes physical injury, according to judicial data.
Judge John Lyke ordered him half of the 12-year prison sentence he received for the arms shop and 85% of the sexual attack. The sentences are served simultaneously.
