More than 150 dogs were crammed in the small, discarded house of an older hoarder in Utah last month, reveals horrible newly released police -Bodycam images.
Homeowner Miguel Salgado-Vargas, 73, was not there during the Sweep last month, but Ogden Police bodycam film material obtained by kutv Shows packages dogs – plus a few cats – swarm every centimeter of the disgusting place of residence.
Officers were confronted with a cacophony of bark and crying before they even opened the door.
Inside they found a house of horrors: dozens of terrified small dogs in cardboard boxes, crawling as rats between piles of waste and jumping on and out of rotting mattresses.
The dust and stench burned the noses and eyes of officers, and at one point they put on gas masks before they continued in the labyrinth of dirt.
The Ogden police removed 156 animals from the hairy flophouse and took them to a local animal shelter.
Salgado-Vargas is confronted with 637 crime charges, including animal abuse, animals without permit and kennel violations, Kutv reported.
Most animals have been accepted and Weber County Animal Shelter has received an outpouring of donations from the community, the outlet added.
