Only a few days ago, CPD warned that two people were robbed last week when they showed up to complete online sales in the 6300 block of South Calmet. One victim was robbed on 5 February around 7:50 PM and the other around 5:14 pm on February 9.
The police said that the victim and one perpetrator met briefly at the location, but then a maximum of six extra men arrived, at least one armed with a firearm, to illuminate the victims of their money.
Recently, prosecutors accused two men of breaking down victims in a separate market for social media.
Lavell Chapman, 25, is accused of armed robbery, accused of taking a pair of Jordan 11 -shoes from a man who pops up to sell the shoes in the 1300 block of South Troy. Prosecutors said Chapman was wearing a gun when the police arrested him last month.
Judge Ankur Srivastava ordered to hold Chapman pending the trial and said that Chapman had been convicted twice before theft and even received a nine prison sentence in one of those cases.
The other man who has recently been charged is Cedric Dupree, 57. We introduced you to Dupree a year ago after prosecutors said he offered his Cadillac for sale on Facebook and then robbed a 26-year-old woman who appeared to do it to do it Buy for $ 1500.
After getting her money, he jumped in the Cadillac and drove away, claimed public prosecutors.
Now public prosecutors say that he did the same with a 32-year-old man in May 2023. In that case, Dupree reportedly grabbed $ 1500 out of the victim’s hand when he agreed to buy Dupree’s Volvo of 2003 in the 7500 block of South Stony Island.
Judge Deidre Dyer has released Dupree to wait for the trial about the new case, in which he is accused of theft by deception.
