2 employees of Colorado's prison system charged with forging records

Two employees with the Colorado Department of Corrections who were placed on administrative leave in February have been charged with forgery and fraud, according to court records.

John Cribari, an associate director of adult parole, and Nathan Oldorf, a community parole officer, both face two felony charges of forging public records and one misdemeanor charge of official misconduct, court records show.

The felony complaints discussing the charges were filed with the court on April 11 and arrest warrants for both men were filed three days later. JS has requested those records.

“The CDOC takes these matters seriously and holds its employees to the highest professional standards,” CDOC communications director Alondra Gonzalez said in an emailed statement to JS. “While this remains an active internal investigation, the CDOC is cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities.”

Gonzalez said the two men were placed on administrative leave on Feb. 13, when the department started its own internal investigation.

Both remain employed by the department, according to the state employee directory and the Department of Corrections website.

She said no additional information about what happened can be released yet “to ensure the integrity of the internal investigation.”

Oldorf posted his $1,000 bond on Tuesday, according to court records. Cribari had not posted his bond, also set at $1,000, as of Thursday afternoon.
