The third generation Jeep compass has leaked for his in the not too distant future.
Photos of the compass have appeared on social media platforms. While some have since disappeared, Brazilian publication Quatro Rodas has published an extensive set with details about the outside and the interior of the new car.
According to an earlier teaser, the design of the compass is known, but has square, more robust style details than today’s car.

In the front, the compass retains the characteristic Zeven-Slot grille of Jeep, although it seems to be completely not functional. The white vehicle could be the more off-road-skatable trailhawk variant, since it has a different front bumper with more gray plastic and stricter styling.
We can see the roof around the side and pillars are made completely black. The fresh shoulder line is noticeable to emphasize the rear wheel arch and to give a soft nod to the styling of the largely unloved compass of the first generation.
At the back, the tail lights extend over the entire width of the car and they absorb an X-graphic and illuminates Jeep logo.
Inside, the dashboard has a larger central touchscreen, pieces of stitched leather (or faux leather), thick accents in metal style and a large plate of a woody fabric.
The third-generation compass leaves its Fiat Chrysler roots behind and takes on the STLA-Middel Platform, which also supports the Peugeot 3008 and 5008, Opel/Vauxhall Grandland and Citroen C5 Airross.
It is generally expected that it will be available with a variety of powertrains, including 48V mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric. The lime -green car shown here has ‘e’ bathing, indicating that it is a fully electric model.
The platform supports vehicles between 4.3 and 4.9 meters long, wheel bases between 2700 mm and 2900 mm and soil freedom up to 220 mm.
Electric variants use a 400V architecture and have so far been offered with a front-wheel drive and dual-motor rear-wheel drive with power ranging from 160 kW to 285 kW. Batteries vary in size up to 98 kWh and offer a range between 500 and 700 km.
The mild hybrid system has a 100 kW/230 Nm 1.2-liter Miller Cycle Three-cylinder engine coupled to a 21 kW/55 Nm electric motor that is within the six-speed gearbox transmission.
Plug-in hybrid models have a seven-speed gearbox with double clutch, a 1.6-liter engine combined with an electric motor to produce a total output of 145 kW and a 21kWh battery good for approximately 85 km of emission-free driving.
The production of the compass is expected to start later this year in Melfi, Italy, with North American and Brazilian factories that will come to the party from next year.
