Three 16-year-old girls stamped, defeated and even pulled a 15-year-old girl in a Queens Subway Station last week, said prosecutors and sources.
The second -year student of William Cullen Bryant High School went to the nearby 46th Street M and R train station around 3 p.m. when the violent crew would follow her, ready to commit what Queens Da Melinda Katz described as “a scandalous representation of bullying and brutality.”
The young Bruten – part of a crowd of teenagers – put the girl on the stairs and struck repeatedly, kicked and stamped on her head, face and body, pulled her up and tried to steal her backpack, said the DA’s office.
The teenager victim was admitted to the hospital after the attack, but now recovers, said civil servants.
Two of the teenagers, both juniors at the same school living in Elmhurst, were arrested on Tuesday and in favor of the accusation of attempted gang attack, attempted theft in connection with the attack, said officers of justice.
Both were placed in an intensive community monitoring program, under the supervision of probation, said the DA’s office.
Judge Bruna Dibian ordered them to return to court on 18 June and they could spend 15 years behind bars if they are convicted.
“A high school student was mercilessly invented, kicked, beaten and stamped by a crowd of fellow students at a train station after the discharge by William Cullen Bryant High School,” Katz said in a statement. “This will not be acceptable behavior here in Queens and I will hold students responsible for this behavior in the extent that the law allows. We are grateful that the victim is recovering. The investigation continues by conducting other people.”
The third 16-year-old suspect was arrested on Thursday, expected later in the day, says sources.
The disturbing attack comes as a NYPD commissioner Jessica Tisch that youth violence has been raised in the Big Apple since 2018 -and has blamed the controversial “Raid the Age” law of the state.
