A large cyber security incident has exposed sensitive personal, medical and financial data from more than half a million Americans.
In a report of data breaches, the office of the attorney general of Maine out The non-profit organization Northbay Healthcare Corporation, based in California, has encountered an external system infringement of 569,012 Americans.
In a notification to the affected people, says Northbay Health that an unauthorized entity between January 11, 2024 and April 1 of the same year gained access to the company’s computer systems.
The company also says that an internal investigation has been demonstrated that the data break the data of individuals, including names, birthdays, sofi numbers, passport numbers, financial account numbers, medical information, biometric information, information about health insurance, driving number or has exposed, others Identification numbers issued by the government.
The hackers have also transferred very sensitive data, including usernames and passwords, credit figures or payment card numbers, expiry dates, security codes and personal identification numbers (PINs).
Northbay Health says that it has renewed its security protocols to witness similar data breaches in the future. The company also recommends that affected customers keep a close eye on their credit reports and account statements and offer a free membership of one year to Experian IdentityWorks.
“If you detect suspicious activities in an account, you must immediately inform the financial institution or the company with which the account is maintained.”
Northbay Health says that so far it has not detected his customer data for fraud or identity theft.
