A maniac nicknamed “Skelator” because of his creepy facial tattoos will go to prison for 100 years for a shooting spree in Nevada and Arizona that left one person dead and several others injured, including a cop.
Christopher McDonnell, 32, of Texas was sentenced to life in prison on Friday plead guilty in October to more than 20 crimes in horror.
The creepy-looking killer claimed he was ‘God’ during the killing spree, in which he fatally shot a man at a 7-Eleven store in Nevada on Thanksgiving Day in November 2020, before driving away in a car and randomly shooting others from it .
Kevin Mendiola Jr., 22, died after shielding his girlfriend from the bullets.
In court, three victims recalled their terrifying encounters with the ailing gunman, whose face is tattooed to look like a cracked skull with a cross etched between his eye sockets.
“I call him ‘Skeletor,’” testified a man who dodged McDonnell’s bullets as they sped past him as he left the 7-Eleven, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
McDonnell eventually pointed his gun at the man’s daughter and 1-year-old granddaughter, who were trapped in a parked car as he threatened them.
“I said, ‘Please don’t shoot. I have no money. You can take my car. You can take anything you want. Please don’t shoot,” the daughter told the court.
McDonnell then pointed the gun at the baby in the backseat of the family’s car before getting into his own car and driving away.
“I heard him say that he was God and that a war was coming,” the daughter said.
McDonnell’s brother Shawn McDonnell, 34, and Shawn’s then-wife, Kayleigh Lewis, 29, were also reportedly in the killer’s vehicle at the time and joined in the horrific chaos, which lasted 11 hours and continued across the state line into Arizona .
The rampage ultimately ended after a high-speed chase and shootout with Arizona state troopers, during which one officer was shot.
Prosecutors said Christopher McDonnell’s sister-in-law was behind the wheel as he and his brother shot from the car windows. Lewis was found guilty in the case, although the charges she was convicted of are unclear, and will be sentenced in June. According to Fox 16, Shawn McDonnell is still awaiting trial.
Clark County District Judge TierraJones slapped Christopher McDonnell with a sentence that means he wouldn’t be eligible for parole until the next century, 2120. KLAS-TV reports this.
“I take full responsibility for my own wrongdoing, and I appreciate the courts for administering justice,” the convicted killer said in a written statement. according to the outlet.
McDonnell’s attorney described him as a “troubled individual” and asked for a sentence of 21 to 52 years, but prosecutors sought the maximum sentence because of the “heinous and arbitrary nature of these crimes.” according to WKRC.
Police said more than a dozen people were targeted in the deadly attack.
Mendiola’s brother and girlfriend, as well as a female driver, were hit in the attack but survived.
“The hurt, the pain, the guilt and the stress that these three individuals have placed on my family… our lives will never be the same,” Mendiola’s brother Christevin Mendiola told the court.
“He saved me, and I’ll never know why,” Mendiola’s girlfriend, Jayde Libby, said of the tragically killed man.
