CHICAGO – Armed robbers targeted food delivery workers in a relatively small section of McKinley Park, according to Chicago police. Since October 21, at least five drivers have been robbed at gunpoint while delivering goods.

According to police, one or two robbers confront the drivers with pistols or rifles and take property such as food, phones and cash. According to a CPD alert, the offenders used several vehicles, including a red Ford SUV, a gray minivan and a gold Chevy Tahoe.

Detectives linked five robberies to the crime pattern:

  • in the 3700 block of South Wolcott between 11:30 and 11:50 p.m. on Oct. 21
  • in the 3700 block of South Paulina at 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 22
  • in the 3500 block of South Hoyne at 2 a.m. on Nov. 7
  • in the 3700 block of South Wood at 4:30 PM on November 27 and again at 11:38 PM on December 16

The police alert contained descriptions of several suspects:

  • a Spanish woman and a Spanish man, both between 22 and 28 years old. The man was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.
  • a man between 23 and 26 years old with an ‘Edgar’ hairstyle, wearing a gray hoodie and black pants with a cross tattoo on his forearm
  • a Hispanic man between 6 feet and 6 feet tall with a facial tattoo and a black mask
  • a Hispanic man about 6 feet tall with brown eyes, black hair and a dark complexion.
