Gunmen rob three people from Christmas Eve to Christmas morning

CHICAGO – Police are investigating three armed robberies that occurred between Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning. No arrests have been announced so far.

The first robbery occurred at the Shell station, 3011 West Belmont, around 10:10 p.m. A man told police he was at the pumps when a gunman wearing a black balaclava approached him and demanded his wallet. After the robbery, the perpetrator fled in a black sedan.

About 10:30 p.m., a 44-year-old woman was robbed in the 1600 block of West Barry in Lakeview. Three men confronted the woman and one displayed a firearm and took her purse, wallet and keys, according to preliminary information. The group, described as three black men wearing black clothing and ski masks, escaped in a gray sedan.

Then around 4:45 a.m. in Bucktown, another man was robbed at gunpoint by three people displaying a gun in the 1700 block of West Armitage. An officer who responded to the scene said the robbers were three black males between the ages of 15 and 18 wearing all-black clothing with black balaclavas. They allegedly fled in a green SUV.

Our coverage area has since expanded to Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas.
