A Denver Thai restaurant, cherished for its service and “secret menu,” is closing this month as its owner seeks to relocate away from Colfax Avenue.
Lucky Noodles on 1201 E. Colfax Ave. will have its last day Friday, Jan. 24, the restaurant announced on social media last week.
“We would like to thank … all customers that supported us during 5 years,” owner Kamolrat “Ploy” Limpapath posted on Facebook. “Thank you for all [the] good energy and amazing support, we can’t do it without you guys.”
The post teased a “new project” in the works and asked customers to “stay tuned”.
Limpapath opened Lucky Noodles after moving to Denver from Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, in 2005. Her dishes, inspired by her grandmother’s cooking, include a soothing green curry; fried chicken with a refreshing papaya salad; and pad see ew, or stir-fried noodles.
Last year, Limpapath told Westword she was considering leaving the Colfax strip as the city is now tearing up the street to make way for a $300 million Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which is expected to take three years to complete.
