Chicago-a cross-Town Police-Achtervolging ended up with two men in custody and confronted with a crime on Tuesday afternoon. But the real story is the video we have received – images that show a ‘hospitable committee’ of residents waiting for the two men while they screamed at a stop, let the car roll through the street and bolted in a residential building while the police Tauting was overtaking.

The images of a building in the 6700 block of South Parnell start with children on the sidewalk while adults are on the porch, some talk about phones, others look at heaven at the police and media helicopters who shade the volatile car from above.

As the sirens get louder, the children run away from the approaching chaos.

Then the black Chevy Malibu roars around the corner and save two men. A woman who waits at the Voorpoort jumps up and down while another woman the two fleeing men in a hurry through the gate and the house. Watch:

While police officers run to the building, one of the women beats the gate for them, the officers seems to keep out. It didn’t work.

It all started when officers responded to a call from a person with a gun in a Chevy Malibu near the 4200 block of South Wentworth at 1:38 pm, according to a CPD spokesperson. The police found the car in the 6300 block of South King Drive and chased it from one end of the city to another, according to Mike Lorber, NBC5’s helicopter reporter.

After the men were saved, the police surrounded the building. NBC’s images showed officers who kick a door on the third floor at the back of the building. (Note: the reporter of NBC, with reference to police radio traffic, said he thought the police were having the vehicle because it was carjacked. In fact, the carjacked vehicle was a separate incident that unfolded around the same time.)

The police spokesperson said that two men were taken into custody: Jeremiah Vaughn, 18, and Jermaine Wilson, 23. Vaughn lives in the building on Parnell, while Wilson lives in the 800 block of West Grace in Lakeview.

Vaughn is accused of aggravated illegal possession of a weapon, possession of a regulated substance and crime, according to CPD. Wilson is accused of aggravated flights, possession of a regulated substance and driving without a driver’s license. He also received a collection of traffic scits.

The men are planned to appear in court on Wednesday afternoon on charges.
