The updated Renault Captur Comes to Australia in the second half of 2025 and the French brand has tested how his drivers aid technology works in local circumstances.

Renault has placed a technical evaluation vehicle for three months of validation tests to ensure functions such as the focus on the driver, lane assistance and traffic sign recognition are calibrated for local conditions.

This testing was conducted by 11 engineers from the technical division of the brand in Europe, where the Captur took a mix of urban, suburban and rural roads in New South Wales and the Australian capital Teritory – 11,000 km in total.

The updated Captur contains Renault’s newest generation Advanced Driver Assistance Technology.

It also makes his debut for Renault Australia, the new “connected car” technology of the French brand, built with Google, so that you can use embedded Google apps such as Google Maps and Google Assistant.

This is integrated in the OpenR Infotainment System, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 10.4-inch touchscreen.

The updated Captur also has renewed styling front and rear and backgoing and displayed suspension and control.

Renault says it will confirm the price and specifications that will come closer to the arrivals of the showroom in the second half of this year.

The pre-update Captur was priced last year from $ 33,000 to $ 39,500 for on-roads.

All pre-update models were driven by a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with turbo vehicle that produced 113 kW power and 270 Nm of torque, coupled with a seven-speed gearbox with double coupling automatic transmission.

However, a wider range of power lines has been offered in Europe, including a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), plus a mild hybrid 1.3-liter turbo four.

Renault says that the Captur returns after a short break, with the stock of the pre-update model that was almost completely finished last year.

“Renault Captur has traditionally been one of the most popular models in our Australian line -up and dealers receive constant questions from buyers who ask when the new model should appear here, after we were sold out of the previous model at the end of last year,” Renault said Australia General Manager Glen Sealey.

“My25 Renault Captur is just one of a number of new and updated Renault models around the corner for Renault Australia and we will have more left soon.”

This year the Captur also has its most direct rival to date: the next generation Mitsubishi ASX.

In contrast to the Nissan Juke who only shares his platform with the French SUV, the coming ASX is a slightly herstyled version of the Captur.

Mitsubishi still has to confirm how the ASX will be priced.
