Australians will have to wait a little longer for the hot Cupra born vz Electric Liège, which only arrives the end of the year.
Cupra Australia has confirmed that the local launch was reduced until December 2025, after he had previously indicated that the VZ flagship would land by May.
In addition to postponing the launch of the born VZ, Cupra Australia has restructured the rest of the launch calendar for the rest of 2025.
The new Terramar SUV now arrives halfway through the year, while updated versions of the Leon and Forentor will follow shortly thereafter.

“We are working hard on the born VZ,” said Cupra Australia director Ben Wilks at the launch of the Tavascan Electric SUV in Adelaide.
“It is important to really roll it out in terms of timing, each of these models needs the right moment in the sun. These are not necessarily delays from a factory perspective, but rather structure and order from our perspective.
“So today you have Tavascan; Terramar in July; the Leons, including the Sportstourer we are all very enthusiastic about [the third quarter]; The Foreentors will then follow; And then the born BZ at the end of the year. That order and structure gives customers confidence.
“And all of that gives our growing network the confidence we need to keep expanding and to keep the Cupra brand grow.”
When the market is hit, the born VZ is one of the few electric hot shuts that are sold in Australia.
It has a single rear electric motor that produces 240 kW power and 545 Nm of torque, increases of 70 kW and 235 Nm compared to the standard born.
As a result, the born VZ can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
Other changes under the skin of the VZ are a slightly larger 79kWh battery and a new DCC sports chassis setup with revised dampers, anti-roll bars and head fields.
External upgrades are limited to wider tires and a choice of two 20-inch alloy wheel designs: forged or with 3D copper inserts. Two new colors join the palette: Midnight Black and Dark Forest Green.
In the cabin, the VZ is ready for the racing track with bucket chairs finished in recycled materials.
The technology has also been improved compared to the basic car, with the assembly of an increased 12.9-inch Infotainment touchscreen with the latest Cupra operating system.
