Ford will the Ranger Super Duty Ute within fourteen days, but we will have to wait until 2026 to see the harder model in local showrooms.

The blue oval has confirmed that it will reveal the Ranger Super Duty on April 4 at 12.30 pm AEDT.

So far, the brand has only announced a handful of details about the Workhorse Ranger, who will be the first Ford to be officially sold in Australia to accept the Super Duty name -usually reserved for large pickups in North -America.

In November 2024, Ford confirmed that the Ranger Super Duty will be equipped with eight-study Hubs-deputy from the North American F-2550 Super Duty-Die 18-inch steel wheels and 33-inch all-terrain tires will be secured.

“The eight-study configuration offers a considerable advantage in terms of loading capacity and ensures an even distribution of weight over the entire wheel,” said Drew O’Shannassy, supervisor of Ford’s Ranger Super Duty Engineering Program.

“This is important for a vehicle such as Ranger Super Duty that is expected to wear and drags heavy loads. The wheel and the tire that we have selected offer a great combination of strength, grip and reliability that our hard -working customers need.”

It has a 4500 kg paste capacity (when it is equipped with a 70 mm tow ball), a gross vehicle mass of 4500 kg (GVM) and a gross combined mass of 8000 kg (GCM), which determines the maximum recommended weight of what is in the UTE and what it drags.

While the Ford F-150, the largest vehicle of the brand for sale in Australia, already has a 4500 kg of baked towing capacity (or 3500 kg with an optional 50 mm tow ball), it does not match the GVM or GCM figures of the Ranger Super Duty.

Photos of a prototype example that was spotted on Australian roads showed everything from the A-style to the B-style seems to be the same as the current ranger, but wider guards to house a wider track were seen.

A leaf spray suspension adjustment seems to be retained under the long drawer on the example of a single cabin, while the back difference is visually larger than that in the current Ranger-Line-Up.

A number of prototypes with double cables are also spotted in the US.

Ford is still to describe what is under the hood of the Ranger Super Duty, but it can be a motor with more power and torque than what is in the current line -up.

Flagship versions of the Australian-Market Ranger are powered by a 3.0-liter turbo diesel V6 that produces 184 kW of current and 600 Nm of torque.

The performance-oriented Ranger Raptor’s Twin-Turbo 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine makes 292 kW and 583 Nm, although in view of the super obligation to be aimed at load-haulers, it is more likely to go diesel.

It will be built in Thailand next to other Australian market Rangers, but local technical input is thanks to the 1500-copy IMG product development team of Ford based in Melbourne.

Ford Australia says it has also collaborated with Fleet customers, with the Ranger Super Duty aimed at farmers, emergency services and utilities and forestry workers.
