iPhone 17 -Series: Summary
- Four iPhone 17 models are expected, including the new air
- Estimated launch date of September 9
- Leaks have already shown Dummy models
The rumor mill never rests when it comes to Apple’s iPhones.
The iPhone 16 series has been eliminated for more than eight months and the interest in the iPhone 17 is increased. Because Apple is notorious, we expect not to get official news, but rumors provide more and more concrete information, thanks to specifications leaks and images of dummy telephones.
Here is a summary of everything we know so far about the entire line-up. However, do not forget that nothing is deposited in stone until Apple announces it.
When is the iPhone 17 released?

- iPhone 17 -Line -Up is expected to be announced on September 9
- Pre-orders will probably open the next Friday
- Devices must be sent a week later
Apple usually unveils its new iPhone -Line -up in September, often on Tuesday of the second week. Based on this pattern, we can expect the iPhone 17 to be announced around September 9, 2025.
Pre-orders are usually opened on the Friday after the announcement, with devices that send a week later. Occasionally, specific models may experience slight delays due to production problems.

How much does the iPhone 17 cost?
Summary
- Prices are currently speculative
- The Plus model is expected to be replaced by the air
- The prices for the Line -up could rise compared to last year
Price companies for the iPhone 17 remain speculative. The ‘plus’, the least popular model of the Line -Up, is probably replaced by a new ‘Air’ model.
The speculated prices are as follows:
- iPhone 17: 6.27-inch, A19/8GB (£ 799/$ 799)
- iPhone 17 Air: 6.65-inch, A19/8GB (£ 899/$ 899)
- iPhone 17 Pro: 6.27-inch, A19 Pro/12GB (£ 1,099/$ 1,099)
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.86-inch, A19 Pro/12GB (£ 1,199/$ 1,199)
If these rumors are true, we could see an increase in costs, whereby the price of the PRO model rises by £ 100/$ 100.
What specifications and functions will the iPhone 17 have?
Summary
- All models are expected to contain LTPO displays
- Everything except the Pro Max expected to stay at 8 GB RAM
- Selfie cameras will probably get a bump up to 24MP, from 12MP
- iPhone 17 air is perhaps less than 5.6 mm thick
iPhone 17 Air
The iPhone 17 Air, previously referred to as the iPhone 17 Slim, will probably replace the plus as a mid-tier model in the Apple line-up, placed between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro.
It is called “incredibly thin”, with an alleged thickness of less than 5.6 mm, making it even slimmer than the 5.8 mm Samsung S25 Galaxy Edge and lighter at 145 g.
It is expected that it has a new, ultra-thin OLED display, made possible by the OLED panel TDDI (Touch and Display Driver Integration) from Novatek, which integrates the touch sensor and the display driver in one layer.
To reach its ultra-thin shape, the iPhone 17-air probably has a small battery of 2,800 mAh, certainly not a physical SIM card slot and only a single 48MP rear camera. To help with problems with the battery life, Apple is expected to sell a battery case for the model, which, by making it thicker and heavier, would deny his most important sales argument.

After we have seen dummies of the models, we now know that the iPhone 17-air is smaller than the 6.33-inch iPhone 16 Plus.

It is also expected to contain a 6.6-inch display (slightly smaller than the iPhone Plus models), Face ID, a dynamic island output and an aluminum chassis.
The iPhone 17-air is expected on the A19 chip (not the A19 Pro), has 8 GB RAM and has a 24MP camera on the front, making it a strong competition for users who want premium functions without the high price of the Pro models.

iPhone 17 Ultra
Will there be an “ultra” model, as some rumors have suggested? It is speculated that an “ultra” model could replace the Pro Max, but there is no consensus at this stage.

Design
A leaked image of Dummy models of the iPhone 17 -Line -Up offered the first concrete information about the placement of lens and the design of the camera modules.

All models in the new line-up have a dynamic island that is “largely unchanged” of the iPhone 16.
As far as Build is concerned, a return to aluminum frames is possible, except for the Pro models, which are expected to keep their titanium frames.
Apple can introduce a new display size for the standard iPhone 17 model in 2025. The iPhone 17 will probably measure at 6.3 inches, an increase of 6.1 inches, making it the same size as the iPhone 16 Pro.
Apple could introduce a new green color option for the iPhone 17 Pro models, because it turned out to be testing color codes, including #004349 (Teal Titanium), #4F00B7 (Green Titanium) and #003800 (Dark Green Titanium). Teal Titanium is most likely considered to reach the last line -up as a deviation from the traditional more modest color options from Apple for its Pro models.

Reproduction
Of all models in the iPhone 17 -Line -Up, they are expected to contain LTPO displays, with sizes that vary between 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches. Always on display, formerly exclusively for pro models, is reportedly become standard in all versions.
It is also suggested that the entire line-up of the iPhone will contain 17 promotional displays, the brand term from Apple for technology with a high refresh.
It remains uncertain whether the standard iPhone 17 models match the 120Hz renewal percentage of the Pro or settle for a slightly lower 90Hz. Anyway, this would mark a remarkable improvement compared to the 60Hz screens that are found in the current non-Pro models, although it comes years after rivals.

Performance
All models of the iPhone 17 are likely to be powered by the A19 chip from Apple, although only the Pro and Pro Max variants are expected to get the more powerful A19 Pro.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to contain 12 GB RAM, while the other models stay at 8 GB RAM.
Despite Apple’s efforts to develop its own 5G modem, the iPhone 17 series will probably still rely on Qualcomm for cellular connectivity. Wi-Fi 7 support is also expected.
It is thought that Apple takes on the cooling of vaporizers over all models in the Line -up. Vapor rooms are advanced cooling systems that use a small amount of liquid, usually dated waterized, to drain heat. The heat of the chipset ensures that the liquid evaporates and the vapor spreads across the room to cool the device efficiently.

Cameras
It is expected that an important upgrade on the front camera is, with all models with a 24MP sensor with 6p lens, compared to the current 12MP selfie camera.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to have a 48MP wide camera, a 48MP UltraWide camera and a 48MP Tetrapersrism Telefoto camera, making it the first iPhone with three 48MP cameras.

Battery and charging
Apple is ready to introduce an innovative, electrically induced battery removal technology in the entire iPhone 17-line-up.
This technology is said to build on the glue mechanism that is seen in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, so that users can easily release the battery by applying an electric current of low voltage.
The glue softens when connected to a 9V battery, USB-C charger or other power sources, making battery maintenance and replacement more user-friendly.

Software
The iPhone 17 series is launched with iOS 19, full of new functions and improvements.
Although AI plays an always central role in telephone software, constant problems with Apple Intelligence mean that it seems likely that Google Gemini will be on iOS 19.
