During the day, RescueThe extensive murals cover large parts of space on buildings, stage backgrounds and even transformers. Although these monumental public works stand out during sun -drenched hours, they transform completely with the darkness of the night.

Artists Javier de Riba and María López are the artistic duo behind Reskate. Mainly located in Barcelona, both artists travel all year round, visit different corners of the world to complete projects to “increase the awareness of care for culture, nature and peace”.

The topics of Reskate are often children. In a daring, illustrative style with graphic line work, the artists show young figures with objects with regard to the area in which the mural is placed, as well as articles that reflect the global worries. “The invisisicization and invalidity of youth as an active element that is part of society is a burden that is still being continued,” the duo explains in a statement about “Eulalia”, an earlier wall painting completed in 2023.

An example of this occurs in ‘Bruit’, who take the form of stage design for a compelling concert. In the piece, a young girl wraps her arms for a fish bowl protecting and nods at the impact of sound pollution in the oceans.

The couple recently completed an exhibition in the Museu Picasso in Barcelona and is planning to continue their artistic efforts, both in and from public spaces. Find more work on RescueWebsite and Instagramand browse through prints in them online store.
