The police of Los Angeles have fired hundreds of rounds of less deadly ammunition, used tear gas and flash pony to break the anti-SCER protests that are raging in southern California for almost a week.
More than 200 people were only arrested on Tuesday evening after Mayor Karen Bass had set a evening clock on Los Angeles.
“The most explosive escalation of tensions between demonstrators and police, because the highlight of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 is currently unfolding in Los Angeles about Trump’s Massa -Deportation Agenda,” said Kieran Doyle, with armed conflict location and events data, that civil and event data.
Here are some of the riot aids that agents use throughout Los Angeles to stop rioters and to control protests.
Tear gas
Also called CS gas, for the active ingredient it uses, it is implemented by spreading both the LAPD and the California Highway Patrol-in the form of portable buses-to hostile crowds.
Tear gas is forbidden for use in warfare under the Geneva protocol, but is often used for the police control.
Impact rounds or stick rounds
This “less deadly ammunition” is fired from a specialized launcher or a modified shotgun. These can cause blunt force injuries and cracks.
The LAPD shot around 600 stick rounds during the weekend and used lighter rubber foam projectiles instead of traditional rubber bullets, The WSJ reported.
Many police departments started to use these as a less dangerous alternative to rubber bullets, which caused serious injuries, also in the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests.
Officers are often trained to target this layer, so that they bounce off the ground to prevent head injuries.
The New York Post photographer Toby Canham, however, seems to be immediately included with one of these rounds while making images of a riot this week.
He made an incredible picture of the projectile that came directly to him before he was hit. The round left him with a huge wound on his forehead.
Likewise, an Australian TV reporter seems to have been shot with one of these rounds live in the air.
Pepperball
Authorities in LA have used Peperballen-a less fatal projectile that is designed to crack on impact and to release pepper spray for crowd control.
These chemicals can cause a burning sensation for exposed skin, cough and gagging, and watering and closing the eyes.
These are fired from weapons that look like paintballs guns.
Bat
The LAPD and California Highway Patrol have used bats made of wood, metal or polycarbonate to hit protesters.
Night sticks are among the oldest aids in the police when it comes to crowd control and arrests of hostile people.
Flash Pony (Stun Grenades)
Used by both the army and the police, Flash Pony explodes with both a blinding flash and a deafening tree.
The goal is to disorient goals.
