Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: Summary
- Samsung’s sequel to his Apple Watch Ultra Rival
- Set to arrive in July, possibly at an unpacked event in New York next to new Galaxy Z -fold and Z Flipphones
- Rumor that they have a similar price, cheaper than the Apple Watch Ultra 2
- Tipped for a similar design, while more storage could unlock offline cards
It is almost a year since Samsung has unveiled the first Galaxy Watch Ultra Smartwatch, so we have the Google Wear OS answer to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 effective.
If the latest speculation is something to enter into, Samsung can be prepared for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in a few weeks.
It is fair to say that Tech Advisor was not fully won by Samsung’s out-oriented smartwatch, so there is certainly room for improvement in the 2025 model.
So what does the rumor mill suggest in store for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and will it be one of the best smartwatches of 2025? This is what we know about Samsung’s next Ultra Smartwatch so far, including our expert analysis and wish list.
When is the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 released?
Summary
- Rumors suggest a launch in July
- This would be logical, where the watch arrived ultra 2 12 months after the original
- Almost certainly next to the Galaxy Watch 8 series
As already mentioned, we have a lot to do with speculation and Samsung has not confirmed or proposed when or if or if we see the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
However, we can look back on the unveiling of the first ultra to get an idea when it could land, especially since Samsung usually stays in the same timelines for most launches.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra was officially announced on July 10, 2024 with pre-orders who started on that day before rolling out a few weeks later on July 24 worldwide.
According to the ‘reliable sources’ of a Greek news site (although we are not familiar with this publication), a new Galaxy Watch Ultra will be announced at the beginning of July in addition to the latest episodes of Samsung’s 2025 foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The probably unpacked for, mainly, the new phones, it is said that they will take place in New York in the first few weeks of July. It must also arrive with the Galaxy Watch 8 series, which is set to see the return of the classic model.

How much does the Samsung Galaxy Ultra 2 cost?
Summary
- The rumor suggests a price of € 699
- Converted into pounds and dollars, it suggests that the price will remain the same as the original
- However, American price can be influenced by Tarrifs
The first Galaxy watch was expensive compared to Samsung’s Non-UTRA GALAXY Watch smartwatches that sparks a price tag that it costs the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and crawls to the costs of Garmin’s Amoled-Moting Fenix 8 Outdoor watches.
According to the Techmaniacs (link above), the following Ultra will be priced at 699 euros, which, when easily converted, would suggest a price of somewhere around £ 599 in the United Kingdom and more than $ 700 in the US.
That seems to indicate that it remains around the same price as the first ultra and still cost less than an Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Of course, with all tariff activities that are now underway, it is not clear how that can influence the price of a new Ultra in the US, so those states can ultimately cough up some more money compared to those who want to tie it up in Europe.
What specifications and functions will the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 have?
Summary
- A similar design is expected, and Tech Advisor hopes for a rotating crown, a new button layout and a smaller case option
- More storage can lead to adding offline cards, a highly missed function in the original model
- New Wear OS 6 and one onion 7 software is likely to head lines with AI functions, possibly via Google Gemini
Design and Build
The design of the first Ultra was definitely a highlight in our eyes. It was clearly a very Apple Watch-Ultra-inspired look (including that special fast button), but was different enough to live a little differently on the wrist.
It also had the materials and level of sustainability that you like to see with Titanium and Sapphire crystal in the game and also offered a strong waterproof assessment. So where can things change?

Techmaniacs, stated in the release date and price sections, suggests that the Watch Ultra 2-design will be comparable to the first generation of Galaxy Watch Ultra. That’s fine, because there was largely not much wrong with the design, but there are some things that Samsung could choose to refine things a little nicer.
In my opinion, the most important thing would be to make the crown button a rotating, so that navigating through screens on the watch would make a more intuitive matter to do. It is an easy victory, and if Samsung reads any reviews of the device, including mine, it should have made a comment.
Thinking again about the placement of the button would also be a welcome change; Possibly moving one of the physical buttons to the side of the case would help to make interaction with the Ultra much less uncomfortable.
The original Galaxy Watch Ultra was quite difficult, with the help of degrees 4 titanium, both IP68 and 10 Aatm reviews, and a long list of extreme situations in which it could survive. So expect more of the same in that respect.
It is typical of an ‘ultra’ smartwatch to get in one size, but it would be nice for Samsung to bick the trend and offer a smaller case than just 47 mm. After all, there are enough people who are looking for this type of device with smaller wrists.
Core specs
So, what functions will the Galaxy look at Ultra 2 pack when it is revealed at the next one?
We can look at the same report to give us any idea of what can be ahead. The most important thing is that we can get a new ultra with more storage space.
The first Ultra offered 32 GB space, which is the same amount that is offered on the Garmin Fenix 8, but half of the 64 GB available on the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

That extensive storage could indicate a characteristic change that we thought was a big miss on the first Ultra and that adds some free offline cards. Almost every other outdoor smartwatch and sports watch you can view that-rich cards and it was strange to see that Samsung did not offer something similar.
Boosting storage can indicate Samsung that makes room for a function like this and would help make the Ultra a rival for other outside smartwatches.
Software
Together with increased storage, it seems that we can be treated to a new user interface that can get inspiration from the one -interface of Samsung. The first ultra launched running Wear OS 5.0 with one onion 6 on top, which may not make the best use of the physical buttons built into the right side of the watch cabinet.
One onion 7 has been rolled out to Samsung telephones and tablets and promises an interface built for AI, the addition of a simpler home screen, a new now bar with real-time updates and finally, deeper Google Gemini integration.
With Wear OS 6 set to land this year and Samsung has worked closely with Google on the recent renewal of the smartwatch operating system, it would not be surprising to see the next Ultra that latest version of wear. We have seen it happen earlier with earlier recent Galaxy Watch launch.
We also know that Google upgrade to Gemini on compatible smartphones, so the idea that a user interface 7 that offers a deeper integration for Gemini could extend to Samsung’s smartwatches is not that much.
