Man sexually abused disabled woman at Knifepoint on CTA Train, Metra Property: public prosecutors
Richard Person (Chicago Police Department, CTA)

Public prosecutors have sued a man with the sexual abuse of a disabled woman several times on board a green line train and again on Metra Property in Oak Park.

Assistant lawyer Michael Pekara said that Richard Person, 43, went to the floor of a green line train on 8 June and removed her clothing. Person started threatening her with a knife and attacked her sexually on the train, Pekara said. He noted that the woman has a disability and has difficulty walking.

When the train reached Oak Park, the person would have ordered the woman to get off the train and force her to the nearby ownership of Metra. Pekara said that person has sexually abused the woman several times at the second location.

Passers intervened when, according to Pekara, he tried to crawl away from person. The police arrested him in the neighborhood.

Prosecutors accused person with four counts of worsened criminal sexual attack of a disabled person, worsened kidnapping with causing damage and illegal relaxation. Judge Deidre Dyer held him in anticipation of the trial, with reference to his long criminal history.

CPD records show that the department was arrested six times this year. He had a crime theft awaiting when he was arrested in Oak Park.
