Honda Super EV concept: Electric city car looks almost production, ready

Honda will the Super EV -concept At the Goodwood Festival of Speed festival this year, and the small electric hatchback almost looks ready to roll the factory line.

So far, the company has released only one photo of the car, wrapped in disguise and crosses Westminster Bridge for the British parliament of houses.

In recent times, most of Honda concepts have an example of production cars that are about a year or two of the launch, such as the Prelude, which will appear as a concept in 2023 and will go a running hill on Goodwood in Production Form this year.

The Super EV seems to fit in this mold with its production-ready wing mirrors in real size, fully frame windows, functioning door handles and reasonably size wheel and tire combination. The only show car element that could possibly be dropped in the transition to the showroom are the wide and thick wheel arches of the concept.

The Super EV is described by Honda as an A-segment model, which means it will compete against the coming fully electric Renault Twingo in Europe.

It can even fall within the Kei car dimensions – a maximum of 3.4 m long and 1.48 million wide – so that it would be sold in Japan with lower loads and road costs.

Thanks to the round headlights, the styling of the Super EV even fits in the template used by Honda’s N Family or Kei cars, such as the N-One (above).

Honda says that the concept of ‘fun-to-drive’ marries ‘trademark Honda usability’, and has been on the road in the UK as part of its global development program.

There is not yet a word about the power line details of the Super EV, but hopefully it will be more competitive than the E Hatchback (above), who earned compliments for his retro styling, but largely failed because of the prices and the limited range.

Equipped with a battery of 35.5 kWh and an engine of 100 kW or 113 kW that controls the front wheels, the E had a WLTP range of only 222 km.

The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place between 10 and 13 July.
