The GWM ORA Is the first vehicle sold by the Chinese automaker in Australia to come from Thailand.

The Rayong factory in Thailand-Die previously the Holden Colorado and Trailblazer for our market produced, before General Motors was sold to GWM in 2020, not only produces the ORA-Electric Liège, but also the Haval H6 Mid-Size SUV and Tank 300 Offroad SUV.

The Thai market is the right-hand ride like ours, although GWM is also building left-hand station vehicles in the Rayong factory for Brazil.

GWM upgraded the factory and started production there in 2021, and it has a capacity to produce 80,000 vehicles annually. The ORA came into production there in 2024.

It is not the only Chinese car maker that sets up a production facility in Thailand, whereby BYD, MG and GAC also produce vehicles. However, none of these car manufacturers export Thai -built vehicles to our market.

From Thais Builded ORAS it is expected to arrive in Australia in the third quarter (July to September), and the production switch could correspond to updates to the small electric Liège Haarwaar, although GWM will remain mum for possible prices or specific changes.

While the ORA is sold out by its most important rivals, GWM Australia has said that it does not want to run away from the model.

Until the end of May, GWM sold 271 ORAS in Australia this year, against MG 4S and 776 BYD dolphins 2017.

Although MG and BYD also offer a wide range of EVs in Australia and even more in China, GWM has a much smaller reserve of EVs to tap, because the company has chosen to set a greater focus on hybrid and plug-in hybrid models.
