Ninja’s 9.5L/10QT Double Stack XL (called the DoubleStack XL in the US) is the brand’s newest and most innovative air fryer, cramming four cooking zones into a compact form factor that won’t overwhelm a smaller countertop.
Or, at least, it was the latest until Ninja announced three new Double Stack models. All three models are now on sale in Britain, but only two have made it to the US.
We first saw them when the brand unveiled them at IFA. You can compare the latest models with the best Ninja air fryers and cookers currently available in our overview, and browse all our favorite products from IFA in our IFA awards article.
The Double Stack SL300 (UK) / SL201 (US)

At 7.6L/8QT this is even more compact than the original 9.5L/10QT model. It has a very similar design and the same height and width as the original (38.5cm x 28cm), but it is only 42cm, instead of 47cm deep (11.25in L x 17.79in W x 15.14 inches H).
We rate the original DoubleStack highly, but when we tested it (see our review), we found that its depth puts it above other countertop appliances – meaning it’s not a perfect solution for every kitchen.
That shouldn’t be a problem with the new compact model.
Each cooking drawer has a capacity of 3.8 L/4 QT and has the same functionality as the previous model, meaning you can use two different cooking methods at the same time, but enable the sync function and cook them at the same time. It also has the same six cooking methods: air frying, max crispy, roasting, baking, dehydrating, reheating.
Ninja thinks there may still be enough food in there to feed six people. We think that’s somewhat optimistic, but with two cooking zones per basket it certainly maximizes space. Each drawer can prepare 400 grams of fries or a 1.2 kg roast chicken.
It’s available in black, instead of the original’s dark gray, and we love this little model. It’s available now from Ninja in the UK for £229.99 and from Ninja in the US for $199.99.

Ninja also had the SL451 on display. This is another new DoubleStack XL model. It is very similar to the original, with a capacity of 9.5 L/10 QT, except it comes with a boiling probe. What this means is that it is a better option for preparing fresh meat and fish and getting perfect results, rather than preparing frozen food, where it is easy to follow the instructions on the packaging.
It has the same six cooking functions as its predecessor: air frying, max. crispy, roasting, baking, reheating and dehydrating.
This model is now for sale. It costs £289.99 from Ninja UK and $249.99 from Ninja US.
Special edition white Double Stack XL
Emma Rowley / Foundry
The third model Ninja has unveiled is exactly the same as the original 9.5-liter Double Stack, except it’s white. As of today, you can only buy it at Currys in the UK. It also costs £269.99. We don’t know if this will be available in the US.
While we think the white model looks good on display and won’t overwhelm your countertop in the same way as a black or gray air fryer, it will obviously take a little more work to make it look good once it’s in your kitchen has been installed. kitchen. Gray and black appliances are good at hiding a little bit of sauce or oil on your stovetop, but a white appliance will show any stray glob.
