An assailant wearing an “X-Men” T-shirt randomly struck an elderly woman with a metal object last week as she walked through the East Village, police said.
The 68-year-old victim was strolling along East 14th Street near First Avenue, just steps from the Stuy Town Apartments, around 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 22 when the Manhattan menace snuck up behind her, police said.
He hit her in the back with an “unknown metal object” before running away, police said.
Surveillance footage released by the NYPD late Monday shows the suspect at one point strolling down the sidewalk, wearing his gray “X-Men” T-shirt, black pants and gray sneakers and carrying a backpack. hand.
The victim refused medical attention and the suspect remained at large on Tuesday, police said.
