The Kentucky-based cryptocurrency investor accused of kidnapping and torturing an Italian businessman in a sadistic attempt to extort his Bitcoin password was ordered without bail on Saturday by a judge in Manhattan.
John Woeltz is confronted with accusations of kidnapping the first degree, first degree illegal prison, second -degree attack and criminal possession of a weapon in the horrifying alleged two -week prison sentence in Soho.
The judge of the Criminal Court of Manhattan has submitted the office request of the Public Prosecutor of Manhattan to hold Woeltz, 37, without a bail. Woeltz will also be obliged to turn his passport, the authorities said.
The victim, 28, broke out of the house of horror on Friday morning and reported his sick abuse and imprisonment to a police officer, said law enforcement sources.

Various polaroids in the luxurious Prince Street Pad – which Woeltz reportedly rented for $ 30,000 to $ 40,000 a month – showed that the victim was tied with electric wire and tuned, as well as one of him bound to a chair with a gun aimed at his head, the sources said.
He was also stored while his feet were placed in water, gun cut, forced to take cocaine and threatened to cut off his limbs with an electric chainsaw while he was held imprisoned, according to the sources.
Kidnapping in the first degree is a crime in New York and can bear a punishment for up to 25 years behind bars.
This is a developing story.
