With emotional faces and an approachable appearance, the figures evoke the human condition, are non-binding to any gender and represent the universal act of introspection.
Refined and unadorned heads are a recurring motif in Khanna’s work. “I have always been fascinated by human psychology – the thoughts, emotions and behaviors that define us,” says the artist. “Heads are not only a vessel for thoughts and feelings, but also include the face, through which we recognize and connect with each other.”

In recent works, Khanna’s minimalist clay figures fulfill various roles related to everyday functionality.
