Actress Anya Taylor-Joy and her husband had to lock themselves in a closet when a group of masked burglars broke into a London country house where the two were staying in February 2023, it was announced on Monday.
Taylor-Joy, 28, and her musician husband Malcolm McRae, 30, were with McRae’s bandmate Kane Ritchotte at the home of another unnamed celebrity who was not home during the horrific ordeal. The sun reported.
The thugs attempted to enter both parties’ bedrooms after smashing a window to gain entry, but ultimately made off empty-handed, leaving the trio “shocked but unharmed”, the report said.

Kirk Holdrick, 42, was later arrested and charged with the burglary. He is currently being held in jail following his not guilty plea and is expected to stand trial in September.
Holdrick previously made headlines in 2022 during a brief dating stint with Hannah Voyan, a former cast member of the British reality TV show Towie.
Another alleged accomplice is still on the run.
A reporting restriction was placed on the burglary which was eventually lifted at Wood Green Crown Court in north London on November 3, The Sun reported.

The burglary was reported to the police. CCTV footage has been analyzed and forensic checks have been carried out in the home.
Taylor-Joy originally rose to fame after starring in 2020’s “The Queen’s Gambit.” She recently amazed in the dystopian action thriller ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’.
