Chicago and other bar visitor was robbed early on Sunday in Wigleyville, part of the city where the police say that organized crews have focused on late-night partygoers during closing time.
The victim stood on the corner of Clark and Cornelia when two armed men demanded his valuables around 1:30 am, according to preliminary information. The robbers fled on foot after they received the phone, the money and the cards from the man.
Officers were told that they were looking for two black men, one with dreadlocks, with dark clothing. They were both 6’1 ″ or 6’2 ″ long with medium -sized builds.
This year, CPD has issued two warnings about theft crews that focus on Wigleyville and Gold Coast Bar visitors while waiting for journeys during closing time. Three of the five robberies of Wigleyville took place in the 3500 block of North Clark, the same block where the theft of Sunday was reported. It is unclear whether the last victim was the target of the CPD group warned.
The well -known crime pattern usually includes three or four robbers who approach victims and show a gun or use strength to get control of their valuables. The robbers even have access to a few bank accounts of the victims via telephones taken during the hold-ups, the police said.
The robberies took place in Wigleyville:
- In the 3500 block of North Clark at 1:30 am and 2:30 am on January 5
- In the 3500 block of North Clark at 1:10 am on January 11
- In the 1000 block of West Newport at 2 o’clock on February 9
- In the 3500 block of North Clark at 1:55 am on February 23
- In the 3600 block of North Clark at 3:45 am on February 23
Gold Coast -Raisals were reported at 3 o’clock on January 11 in the first block of West Division and the next day at 2:16 am in the first block of East Elm. CPD describes the suspects as three or four black men between 16 and 25 years old
