Aston Martin has become almost synonymous with James Bond, and 2024 will mark 60 years since 007 first piloted the iconic DB5 Goldfinger.

To celebrate this, the British brand has launched the DB12 Goldfinger Editionwhich features a number of bespoke appointments thanks to Q by Aston Martin’s bespoke personalization department.

It is limited to only 60 units.

Key details from the start include the Silver Birch exterior paint, synonymous with the DB5 Goldfinger; 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels in a special silver finish with diamond treatment; black brake calipers; gold side planks; and a special Aston Martin logo in silver with black enamel.

Inside, the Sports Plus leather seats are finished “in the classic DB5 style with an intricate perforation pattern with Prince of Wales checks,” which the brand says is a nod to “a classic James Bond suit.”

This pattern extends to the door inserts and headliner, in addition to the etching of the special sill plates and Goldfinger 60th anniversary logo.

But wait, there’s more! 18K gold-plated interior accents further elevate the interior, including on the rotary drive mode dial and roller controls, as well as on the notched gear lever which Aston Martin says is design inspired by the gold tracking device 007 used in the film .

More gold has been incorporated into the trim inlay, with gold metal fibers woven into the 2×2 twill gloss carbon fiber trim. Finally, the ‘night of hearts’ is embroidered into the driver’s sun visor, referencing the playing card seen in the final draw during the famous Miami pool scene.

However, there is no ejection seat. Sorry.

Should you be lucky enough to get your hands on one of these exclusive commemorative Grand Tourers, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition also comes with a selection of special gifts, including a bespoke car cover and a luxury key presentation box.

Aston Martin will also give new owners a Silver Birch Speedform model and a piece of the iconic Furka Pass scene Goldfinger on 35mm film.

Not enough? A limited edition 1/60 gold Aston Martin magazine will also be donated, with all of the above extras presented in a Globe-Trotter attaché case that recreates the car’s Silver Birch exterior with a Prince of Wales diamond interior.

Oh, and there’s a magnum of vintage 2007 Champagne Bollinger, individually numbered, with four exclusive Bollinger 007 glasses, presented in a custom Globe-Trotter Air Cabin Case.

Among the commemorative edition parts, the DB12 retains its stunning 500kW/800Nm 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8.

The DB12 drives the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, with a shorter final drive ratio than the previous DB11, and is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds on its way to a vmax of 325 km/h.

Aston Martin hasn’t announced pricing for the DB12 Goldfinger Edition, but we expect it to command a significant premium over the DB12 Coupe, which starts at $455,000 plus on-road costs in Australia.

The first deliveries will take place in the second quarter of 2025.
