At least 15 people were arrested for a massive anti-season protest in Lower Manhattan Tuesday, where screaming, planned demonstrators flooded the streets.
Thousands of angry New Yorkers took to the streets outside of Foley Square in the shade of the town hall to protest against the immigration and customs enforcement deposits in the city and throughout the country.
Picketers wore placards by reading “Acolish Ice” and “Ice from New York!” And singing sentences such as: “Brick due to brick, wall on the wall, this racist system must fall!”
At least 15 demonstrators were taken into custody by the NYPD near Broadway and Duane Street for hindering traffic and not complying with orders to spread, according to police sources.
Remarkable speakers at the protest were Brooklyn -council member Shahana Hanif and public lawyer Jumaane Williams.
