The Chicago police are looking for a man who is AWOL of a crime cabinet after a woman was shot in Rogers Park on Monday evening.
The 26-year-old victim traveled in a car when a man she knows shot shot at her in the 7700-block of North Paulina around 10:40 am, according to CPD. She kept driving to get away from the area and officers settled her at a gas station at 101 Ridge Avenue, just across the border in Evanston. She had a shot wound at her thigh. CPD said she was in good condition.
Officers on the spot said that the shooter has been bothering the woman for a while and they know who he is. Court of justice show that prosecutors have asked a judge to hold the man after they had illegally accused him of a firearm. Judge Caroline Glennon-Goodman, however, rejected the detention petition and sent him home.
Data also shows that he stopped appearing before the court in November and there is an active order for his arrest.
The woman is the 11th person who was shot in Rogers Park this year, so that 2025 is exactly at pace with last year’s shootings. At that time, 12 people were shot in 2023 and 10 from this date in 2022.

CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to provide original reporting of public safety with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
