One man is dead and the other is in critical condition after a shooting in Rogers Park on Sunday evening. The police officers of Chicago were on patrol when they heard rifle fire and saw two people around 9500 in the 7500 block of North Damen.
The police found a 31-year-old man dead of a shot wound at the head and neck. A second victim, also 31, was discovered in a nearby alley. CPD said he was shot in the chest and both legs.
Researchers also found a firearm and a plastic bag with piles of cash at the shooting, an officer said.
The recording was recorded at a distance on video:
A witness told the police that they saw four men running out of the stage after the shooting. CPD officers also held the two men they saw run after the shots were fired. It is unclear whether they played a role in the incident.
The deceased victim was not immediately identified. Legal reports show that the surviving victim was twice convicted of theft as an adult, the most recently received from a 10 -year prison sentence in 2017.
The men are the fourth and fifth people who were shot in Rogers Park this year. This is generally in accordance with the annual pace that has been seen since 2022.

CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to offer original public safety report with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
