The Bentley X Concept is “developed to encourage feedback” from owners on whether a market exists for an off-road focused vehicle Bentayga.
Launched during the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See in Austria, the X Concept is based on the fastest variant in the Bentayga series, the Speed.
The concept is a continuation of the Speed’s 478 kW/850 Nm 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive and a 48-volt electrically active stabilizer system.

To improve suspension travel, the X Concept’s ride height has been raised by 55mm, increasing ground clearance to 310mm. Bentley says the wading depth is now more than 550mm.
Compared to the standard Speed, the X Concept is a significantly wider and meaner beast. The track width of the car has been increased by 120 mm, which requires 40 mm wider wheel arches all around.
Under the flared black arches are Radar Renegade R/T+ 285/50 tires with 22-inch one-piece forged wheels from Brixton.
The grille, sills and lower parts of the bumper have been blackened. Two dark blue towing eyes protrude from the front, while at the rear there is a titanium exhaust from Akrapovic.
A storage bin with four built-in spotlights has been added to the roof, bringing the total height of the car to 2.49 meters. For the concept’s debut in Austria, the box houses an electric go-kart.
There’s no indication yet when Bentley will decide whether to move forward with a more off-road-oriented version of the Bentayga.
