In the ever-expanding pantheon of open-world video games where fighting, survival, crafting, and anarchy reign supreme, the simple idea of taking a virtual stroll while chatting with some friends may seem pointless. However, a new video game from Melbourne-based developer House House is thinking otherwise, turning a casual stroll through dreamy landscapes into a unique collaborative game that focuses on puzzles and the lengths it takes to solve them. Some areas of Great walk leave players speechless, forcing you to come up with innovative ways to communicate. It might be the antithesis of Fortnite or Grand Theft Auto.

This friendly, casual and playful approach to game design may not come as a surprise to the creators of the critically acclaimed game Untitled Game of the Goosewhich focuses entirely on a hapless goose navigating everyday environments while avoiding the unwanted attention of nearby humans. “Although Big Walk is a game about walking and talking, it is also about exploring, getting lost, and taking on challenges, and sometimes doing nothing at all,” shares a game trailer.

You can play this “cooperative online walker-talker” at SteamSwitch 2, and PlayStation 5 from August 4.
