Chicago-two teenage boys between the ages of 15 and 14 are confronted with crime after the armed hijacking of a vehicle of a 61-year-old man on the south side of Chicago, the police announced today.

The hijacking took place around 3.45 pm Sunday in the 7900 block of South Shore Drive.

According to the police, the young people and unknown accomplices used a firearm to hit the victim and to take his GMC Acadia 2012 by violence. CPD brought paramedics to see him, but his injuries were not considered serious.

The city-wide Kaacking Task Force in the city arrested the 15-year-old in the 7900 block of South Muskegon and the 14-year-old in the 8000 block of South Muskegon around 11:15 am Monday.

Both boys are accused of aggravating hijacking of vehicles with a firearm. The 15-year-old, who had an active arrest warrant for a non-related issue, is also responsible for owning a stolen motor vehicle.

CPD did not release the identities of the young people because they are younger than 18.

CWBCHICAGO was founded in 2013 by five residents of Wigleyville and Boystown who had been discouraged with inaccurate information that was provided during meetings of the local community policing (CAPS). Our coverage area has since been expanded to cover Lincoln Park, River North, De Loop, Uptown and other North Side areas. But our mission remains unchanged: to provide original reporting of public safety with a better context and more detail than regular media. Our editorial e -mail address is news@cwbchicago.com
