A Brooklyn -Teenage was caught because he reportedly made several threats for schools in Texas and Florida -even personally aimed at a family member of one of the victims of the Uvalde School -Bloedbad from 2022 on Tiktok, the authorities announced this week.
The 16-year-old boy was picked up in his house in Brooklyn on 1 May and accused of one crime of making terrorist threats, said Uvalde police on Wednesday.
In addition to the threats for the family of Het Uvalde shoots victim, he is accused of making multiple “SWatting” or false report – calls and shouts threats for the Upvalde Consolidated Independent School District on social media in January, the police said.
He also admitted that he had done several SWatting calls to schools and law enforcement agencies in Uvalde and San Antonio, as well as Coral Springs, and Parkland, Florida, the authorities said.
These threats came shortly after the calls in Uvalde – and researchers finally followed the caller to the New York area, the police said.
The teenager also stood out by investigating active shooting incidents and monitoring social media accounts for law enforcement agencies and students in the Urvalde School District, Cops said.
A 3 -month investigation called “Long Arm of Justice” involving 14 agencies in Texas, Florida and New York, eventually led investigators from the district procurer from Brooklyn to the teenage house.
Researchers were looking for his house and discovered that he had no access to weapons and had no direct connections with Uvalde, San Antonio or Florida, the police said.
But the alleged actions of the teenager “have had important consequences for school safety, community security and the allocation of resources for law enforcement,” said Uvalde police in a Wednesday message.
“This operation shows our dedication to collaborate with partners to ensure that we keep people responsible for threatening our community,” said Uvalde police chief Homer E. Delgado in a statement. “We will not allow a distance or digital anonymity to protect those who try to cause fear or to disturb the safety of our schools and neighborhoods.”
The case is being prosecuted in Texas, according to a spokesperson for the Brooklyn Da office, who said that his desk simply helped with the arrest.
The name of the teenager was not released by the police because he is a youth.
