Paramedics took a Bustang driver to the hospital Wednesday after the mountain-bound bus rolled and crashed on Colorado 62 in San Miguel County, state patrol officials said.
The Bustang was traveling westbound on Colorado 62 at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when the driver, a 54-year-old man, drifted off the right side of the road during a curve, according to a news release from Colorado State Patrol.
Investigators said the bus then went partially up the embankment off the highway near milepost 2 and rolled onto its left side.
Only the driver was injured in the crash, state patrol officials said. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
The westbound Bustang line connects Denver to multiple mountain stops — including Frisco, Vail and Avon — before ending in Grand Junction.
State patrol officials said the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash should contact investigators at 970-249-9575.
