Cadillac's More affordable, Australia-bound EV gets Major Power Bump-Report

Deliveries of the Cadillac Optiq Started with the US earlier this year and it will only be launched in Australia until 2026, but the medium -sized electric SUV is already in line for a major update.

The new basic variant rear-wheel drive is said to be 232 kW power and 450 Nm of torque-8 kW only 30 Nm compared to the current dual engine four-wheel drive.

It is said that it will continue to use the same 85kWh Nickel Cobalt Manganese (NCM) battery, with an estimated range of 483 km on the American EPA cycle.

The Dual-Motor four-wheel drive Optiq is said to be a punch in power and torque to 328 kW and 675 Nm, an increase of 104 kW and 195 Nm on the current model.

That still leaves breathing space for the upcoming Optiq-V flagship, which will pump 387 kW/880NM, making it good for a claimed 0-60 MPH (0-96 km/h) sprint time of 3.5 seconds using launch control.
