As brands like Samsung, Motorola and Nubia introduce foldable clamshell smartphones with cover screens, users are discovering new features and functionality.
A common question among flip phone users is whether it is possible to take a screenshot of the cover screen.
The short answer is “yes,” and if you own the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, Nubia Flip 5G, or any other flip-style Android phone, here’s a guide on how to do it.

Take a screenshot on a flip phone
All you need to do to take a screenshot of the cover screen of a flip phone is to press and hold the power button and the volume down button at the same time when the cover display is on. In other words, the same method you would normally use to take a screenshot on Android.
However, keep in mind that the orientation of the volume buttons changes depending on whether the phone is folded open or closed. When the phone is folded (closed), the volume up button becomes a volume down button and vice versa.
If you do it right, the screen will flash white and you will be notified that the screenshot has been taken and saved. Then you can just open the phone, dive into your gallery app and open it there.
