The Tesla Model Y has been named Australia’s best medium -sized electric SUV in the inaugural 2025 Carexpert Choice Awards.
It defeated the BYD Sealion 7 and Volkswagen ID.4 for the title.
The model Y recently received a substantial update, which considerably improved the best -selling electric vehicle (EV) in Australia.

Far from a modest update of the mid-cycle, Tesla has done enough to make the model look considerably different and to feel it and to keep it above battle and this is perhaps the most competitive segment on the Australian EV market today.
It still has the flashy technology, but minimalist style that Tesla is known for, but the cabin is now a more attractive place to be and the ride is more comfortable.
If Rivals finally caught up with the pre-update model Y, Tesla has moved the goal posts again.
