The Traitors Season 3 glued the UK to TV screens in January and has now reached a dramatic conclusion. That’s why fans will be happy to hear that a brand new celebrity edition of the show is officially in development.
The news of the project was first reported by Deadline in April 2024 and the show was officially announced by the makers in August 2024.
The British edition of the show has been one of TV’s biggest hits in recent years, clocking multiple awards and smashing ratings records.
So far, all three seasons of the British edition of the Traitors have featured “ordinary citizens.” However, the US version has already mixed stars with members of the general public, while seasons 2 and 3 were celebrity-exclusive.

When are celebrity snitches released?
The BBC and Studio Lambert have not yet revealed any information about the show’s release date, but shooting for the Celebrity edition is expected to begin this year.
If production takes place before season 4 (which usually shoots in the spring/summer), then there’s a chance we could see The Traitors’ Celebrity in 2025.
The spin-off has been confirmed to consist of nine episodes.

Previous rumors suggested as much Courteney Cox could be one of the participants. The actress appeared in a video published by Claudia Winkleman announcing the Traitors UK season 2. For fans, this proves that Cox is a fan of the show and could appear in his famous version.
Mike Cotton, unscripted creative director at Studio Lambert and executive producer for The Traitors stated:
We are very happy to invite some celebrities to our castle to come and play the game. Seeing famous faces navigate the round table or don the infamous green cloaks is unmitigated TV, and what a double treat for fans with Series 4 also confirmed. There is still a lot of exciting treachery and deceit yet to come from the highlands… Claudia will have to pack some extra knitwear.
What will celebrity traitors be about?
The format of the series will likely be similar to the “burgers” version.
Celebrities are locked in a castle in the Scottish highlands, competing for a cash prize. However, some “traitors” will be hidden in the group – they will plot and “murder” other participants. Therefore, the ‘believers’ will have to discover who the ‘traitors’ are and vote them out of the game.
