A Chicago alderman told FOX News Digital on Wednesday that city officials still want to distract the financing of the police, although the city was again the murder capital of the country in 2024.
“I also said this for the last two mayors,” said the 41st Ward alderman Anthony Napolitano. “It is not so much that the latter two administrations are cracking. They ignore the crime rate because their goal … is to demonize the police, it seems as if there is not as much a crime problem as there is, because their goal is to steal the police budget.”
In 2024, Chicago had 573 murders and led the country for the 13th year in a row for the 13th year in a row.
The murder figure per 100,000 inhabitants in the city was five times higher than 377 of New York City and three times higher than the 280 of Los Angeles, according to one Analysis by Wire Points.
“They want to take police budget because it is an extremely high budget and assigned to other means or projects that they want to reach in their term of office,” said Napolitano. “It destroys our city. It is clear what’s going on.”
One of those projects, Invest South/West, was an “epic failure,” said Napolitano.
According to the city, $ 250 million in taxpayers were allocated for that project, which started in 2019, in an attempt to revitalize Southwest Chicago in the hope of luring companies to the area.
“Investsouth/West is one of the greatest epic failures they have had,” said Napolitano. “Instead of investing in just one neighborhood, in one area, why do we not make the entire city safe by investing in our police and the safety of our city, so that investors want to come to the whole of Chicago on a larger scale, not only specific neighborhoods? They refuse to do that.”
Napolitano also noted that the leadership of the city used enormous means to support illegal migrants for political purposes, thinking that they would get more help from the federal government if former Vice -President Kamala Harris had won the November elections.

He also said that his voters are furious, because there is not many violent criminal activities in his neighborhood, which means that police means of the district are aimed to treat violent crime elsewhere.
This means that when a burglary or other small crime takes place in the 41st neighborhood, residents have a harder time getting the help they need.
“So it’s an evolution of only pure bull by these people,” he said. “The last two administrations are the worst that this city has ever seen.”
