CML’s appoint Rene Galicia as his new COO

On Wednesday, CMLS announced the appointment of Rene Galicia as his new COO. Galicia starts next Monday, May 19. He has been a board member at CMLS since the beginning of the year.

Prior to this agreement, Galicia served as Clear MLS ‘ Executive Vice President of Policy Counsel and Strategic Partnerships. Galicia announced his departure from Bright MLS last week. In this role in Bright MLS, Galicia led support, training compliance and efforts for shareholders’ relationships, as well as policy initiatives.

He also served as director of MLS -Engagement at the National Association of Realtors (Nar), and has spent more than seven years in different roles California Regional MLS (CRMLS), The largest MLS in the country.

The trade group believes that Galicia’s experience will help him guide the members of CMLS through a complex landscape, while defending transparency, efficiency and pro-competitive practices.

“His extensive experience in the MLS policy, operational excellence and his passion for promoting industry makes him the perfect leader to help us deliver an exceptional value to our members,” said Evans, the CEO of CMLS, in a statement.

In his new role at CMLS, Galicia will supervise the activities of the organization to promote the MLS.

“I am very happy to become a member of CMLS as Chief Operating Officer and to contribute to the mission to strengthen the MLS community through innovation and cooperation,” Galicia said in a statement. “I look forward to managing CMLS’s mission to promote a healthy real estate market by working with our members, partners and staff to shape the future of MLS.”
