A teacher at Adlai Stevenson Elementary was imprisoned after prosecutors said he had given explicit sexual conversations online with a 13-year-old female student from the school.
Trevon Jackson, a 27-year-old teacher, is said to have used Google Meet and the chat function on Roblox, a gaming platform, to have explicit conversations with a 13-year-old girl in February, explained prosecutors during a recent hearing. He is also accused of telling her to delete the messages and refuse interactions if questioned.
The Chicago police launched an investigation in February after Roblox had informed the National Center for Missing and exploited children about chats between accounts related to Jackson and the girl, said Assistant State lawyer Bonnie Greenstein.
Roblox provided law enforcement from chats from 7 February to 13 February, including Jackson authorities that sent sexually explicit images to the girl, Greenstein claimed. She told him that he also told her ‘several times’ to delete messages, to do denials about their conversations and to ‘cover their tracks’.
On February 12, Jackson would have sent chat messages to the girl who stated: “If I say that my stick is going in your navel,” “I want it in your mouth,” and “I don’t care if you’re 13.”
Greenstein said that he sent more messages the next day: “I am sorry that they have sufficient evidence that I certainly hit you” and “I think your mother will cut me weak and help me by keeping my work and not to press charges.”
She said that Jackson sent another series of messages on 15 February that graphically explained how he wanted them to have sex. And in a graphic chat on February 16, he reportedly asked the girl if she would let him do something with her “at this age, now”, “if you were here.”
Roblox gave CPD the e -mail address and investigators of the girl identified hair by performing it via a Chicago Public School database, according to Greenstein. They also identified Jackson by following his IP address, she said.
When the police spoke with school employees, they were told that the CPS office of Inspector General was conducting a continuous investigation by Jackson due to alleged incorrect electronic communication with the girl, Greenstein said.
The girl participated in a forensic interview on March 13 and revealed that Jackson was a teacher at her school who gave her his Roblox users and played a game with her, said Greenstein. She would also have revealed that he used the chat function to tell her that he wanted sex with her and that she should deny any accusations of incorrect behavior.
Jackson’s lawyer said during his first appearance that he has no criminal background and is working on obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Informatica Online.
After hearing from both parties, Judge Shauna Boliker granted the detention of the state.
CPS did not respond to an investigation to ask for a statement about the allegations and answers to the following questions:
- What is Jackson’s status at CPS? If he was removed from an educational position, when and why did this happen?
- When were the girls known to CPS? When did the IG start his research? What is the status of that research?
- What are the procedures of CPS when accusations of sexual misconduct in which a faculty member and a student are involved are reported?
- Has CPS contacted CPD about the allegations before CPD contacted CPS? If so, who was contacted at CPD and when?
