Crazy driver punches, then robs New York traffic enforcement officer in broad daylight attack: Police

A Queens driver flew over the line when he was hit with a ticket — hitting a traffic cop and stealing his summons machine during a broad daylight crash this week, police said.

The 56-year-old uniformed NYPD traffic enforcement officer was working on 63rd Drive near Queens Boulevard on Wednesday around 4:20 p.m. when Mark Garrido, 29, confronted him for ticketing his white SUV, authorities said.

Garrido argued with the officer before punching him in the hand and taking his call machine in a fit of rage, police said.
