Dacia Bigster: Renault’s new seven-seater budget SUV is nearing its debut

The Renault budget Dacia brand has teased the production version of its new one Bigger SUV, and it is expected to come to Australia.

Darkened images of the seven-seater Bigster were published on Instagram from Dacia France, which previews the model that will make its international debut at the Paris Motor Show next week.

The 90th edition of the Paris Motor Show will be held from October 14 to 20 and will showcase a wide range of new vehicles.

In addition to the smaller Dacia Duster SUV, AutoExpert understands the Bigster could reach Australian shores in mid-2025 with Renault badging.

Independent distributor Ateco is responsible for Renault in Australia, after the French manufacturer closed its local operations in 2021.

Renault Australia has announced that it wants to bring the two Dacia SUVs Down Under.

“We have raised our hands for certain products in the Dacia range. Duster is one of them, and so is Bigster,” said Glen Sealey, managing director of Renault Australia AutoExpert last year.

“Our role as an importer is to choose the products that are suitable for Australia. And then under the Renault brand.”

Built on Renault’s CMF-B platform, the Bigster is expected to share components with the Duster and have the same dimensions as a Nissan X-Trail.

Mechanical specifications have not yet been revealed, but the Bigster could inherit powertrains from the Duster, which is sold in Britain with a choice of two engines: a 1.2-litre mild-hybrid turbocharged three-cylinder and a 1.6- liter hybrid four-cylinder. -cylinder.

Notable visual features of the Bigster concept include Y-shaped exterior lighting elements, protective covers made of recycled plastic and an angular housing with square ends.
