The artificial intelligence world is changing quickly and Deepseek, a Chinese AI model, has become an important player while China fails against the major American technology companies.
The chatbot climbed to the top of the App Store hit lists in 51 countries, but we did not know before that it was familiar to Huawei to make it work.
According to AI analyst Alexander Doria, the R1 language model of Deepseek (LLM) was first trained with the help of Nvidia’s H100, but now trusts Huawei’s Ascend 910C chip to generate reactions.
This shows that AI Computing leaves from Western hardware to Chinese alternatives, which could be very important in the global AI race.

In reports on X, Doria pointed out that Deepseek has separated training and conclusion, reducing the need for powerful GPUs. Although the 910C chip from Huawei is not as strong as the H100 of Nvidia for training, it works well for reactions, so Deepseek helps the costs while staying competitive.
Doria also reports that Deepseek could train its next AI model using 32,000 Huawei 910C chips. Although Huawei may have trouble meet the demand, it can give priority to Deepseek to show that China can develop AI without trusting American technology.
If Deepseek trains on Huawei chips, this could completely change the global AI market. The American AI industry, which is already concerned about the success of Deepseek, can still experience more difficult competition from Chinese companies that can build advanced AI models at much lower costs.

At the moment, the 910C chip of Huawei Nvidia’s H100 cannot completely replace it, especially for training AI models. However, since the AI struggle is not nearly over, Deepseek’s use of Huawei chips proves that China closes the gap.
Its success in the reactions of Deepseek shows that China is making rapid progress in AI chip technology. If the 920C chip, successor to the current, meets expectations, this could be a game changer in the AI struggle.
