Last night’s robberies are very similar to the ruthless waves of street robbery, which Chicago have plagued for almost three years. Holdup crews responsible for those crimes committed hundreds of robberies, sometimes aimed at ten or more victims in one hour. The crews continued their crime until the police had arrested some or all perpetrators.
The crews have been quiet for several months and theft reports are 35% city -wide down So far this year.
